Please step out for grieving children!
When I was 15, my brother Warren died. This fundraising walk is named in his memory, but it really is the story of my family's journey through our grief.
My mom, dad, sister, and I attended Journey of Hope in the months following Warren's death, and Journey of Hope gave us hot meals, a place to explore our individual feelings, and tools for communicating and coping as a family unit. We credit Journey of Hope for helping our family grow closer together in the months and years following Warren's death, instead of letting our grief rip our family apart.
The tools that Journey of Hope equipped me with didn't just help me through my rocky teenage years. When I was in college, I used those tools to cope with my mother's two brushes with cancer. After I got married, I used those tools to grieve and communicate with my husband as we struggled with infertility and pregnancy loss.
